Take a close look at the monsters in Dying Light 2 Stay Human

Night has come for our new video game, so grab your flashlight and join us as we explore the secrets of a dark area. Take a close look at the various types of infected, put yourself face to face with a volatile, and try to do it in one piece. But this will only be possible if you consult our tips. Are you ready?

It is one thing to know your enemies. Another, to know their weaknesses. We will cover both, just to be sure. So who are all the monsters you’ll meet in The City? Suppose you get infected. First, you might think it’s just the flu, as the symptoms are very similar. That is, if you did not live in a post-apocalyptic city hit by a deadly virus, where you would know all too well that it is more than that, and you would start your career against infection.

Chances are you also have a biomarker – a special bracelet that shows the stages of your illness and the degree of near the turning point. If you were unable to find enough UV light or Antizin in time, the symptoms would get worse each time, until you could no longer speak. Then your biomarker would turn red and be a straight path to becoming a volatile. And once it’s turned, there’s no going back.

After reaching the turning point, what you most wanted, UV rays, becomes your worst enemy. Stay in the sun and you will degrade yourself in a shipwreck of a monster, a Biter. You will lose the remnants of consciousness you would have had and you will continue to roam the streets without any mind until you die of light.

But it doesn’t have to get so bad, even though it’s rather relative, because if you let the virus progress in the dark, you’ll become the strongest monster of all: a volatile one. Fast, smart and deadly, it’s the only thing you’d never want to know. So our first piece of advice should already be clear: stay in UV light and use it against monsters. It will keep you safe from both infection and those infected.

But exposure to light is just one factor that defines which monster you will become. There are more, like the chemicals that fell on The City in the past. Accelerating the progression of the virus in sick people, they caused their bodies to change too quickly, which in turn caused several mutations.

For example, if the virus seized someone’s vocal cords, it could become a Howler, an infected person who is too scared and unable to fight a human being, so he calls and warns those best suited to at work with his penetrating cry. Don’t let him see you. Another chemical product is the Demolisher, whose body became extremely large, especially the hands, and its skin hardened with stone fabric. You can charge or hit the ground with your fists to create a kind of shock wave in addition to throwing immensely heavy objects, so watch out for those flying blocks. Against the Demolisher, you will have to rely on his agility.

But there’s also the Banshee – smaller, but so skillful you won’t see it coming. It is fast and surprises you by attacking you from the rooftops. If you manage to fight her, your strength will be your best chance. And then some monsters mutated in the most unpredictable ways.

The Revenant has a curious ability to polish and summon nearby, infected with the substance that comes from the growths of the back. It’s pretty weird. You will find it only in specific places and only at night. But we’re not as sure of looking for it as a good idea. Unless you are prepared to fight an army.

So the next piece of advice would be to never get into The City’s chemical clouds, and when you fight those who did, adjust your tactics to abuse their weaknesses. And since we’re not any kind of advice, this one should follow naturally – don’t walk around the dark areas during the day. That’s when all the infected are there, hiding from the sun. It is smart to use this time to explore the streets and return to the dark areas at dusk, when they have gone hunting. Still, that doesn’t mean you can be neglected, as there are still some monsters, even volatile ones, stretched and strolled. That’s when our improved stealth mechanics come in handy. Do not rush to think about your next steps and you will achieve it without a horde of infected people chasing you.

And it’s worth trying your luck in the dark areas, no matter how dangerous they are. They are full of valuable loot, the inhibitors are probably the most precious of all. Now, these chemicals are the ones you really want. They will increase your skills, which will allow you to fight better, jump higher and run faster than any other human being. But it also has a darker side. You will have to find out for yourself, if you manage to survive long enough.
